Scottish Aberdeen festival to screen ‘Negar’s Role’

The 3rd Aberdeen Int’l Film Festival in Scotland is to screen ‘Negar’s Role’ by Ali Atshani.

The 3rd edition of the Aberdeen International Film Festival in Scotland has scheduled to screen ‘Negar’s Role’ directed by Ali Atshani.

Atshani’s motion picture is the only film to represent Iran in the festival.

‘Negar’s Role’ tells the story of Farzad who is going to marry an orphan, Negar. In order to prevent his family’s disagreement, Farzad helped by the orphanage, sends Negar to live with a family who will act as Negar's actual family on the proposal night. However complications both in the new family and in the couple’s relationship arise before the awaited night.

Notable among the cast are Bahram Radan, Elaheh Hesari, Atila Pesyani, Saeed Changizian, Gohar Kheirandish, and Nasser Malek-Motiee who is back to cinema after some three decades of hiatus.

Atshani has directed a number of movies, including ‘Banana Peel’, and ‘Mr. Alef’, ‘The President’s Cell phone’, and ‘Wishbone’ which has taken part at several international film festivals.

He is currently in the pre-production stage of a Hollywood comedy titled ‘1st Born’.

Launched in 2014, Aberdeen is following in the footsteps of Glasgow and Edinburgh with its international film festival.

The 3rd edition of the Aberdeen International Film Festival is slated to be held in October 2017 in the Scottish city.
